LOCKWOOD ELEVATION ELECTRIC WINDOW ACTUATOR

Echoing comments from others, I have no issues with The Lock Shop—great service, excellent prices, and I highly recommend them. My issue lies with the Lockwood product. We have 11 actuators in a residential home, around 5 years old, and they've been used approximately 200-300 times. Unfortunately, 4-5 of these actuators have failed. According to Lockwood’s specifications, they’re rated for about 12,000 activations. The problem isn’t with the motor or the chain, but rather the internal gears. The teeth of the gears, especially the main gear, tend to break off and cause the system to jam.

I’ve managed to rebuild some of the units by sourcing parts from spare actuators online, but the issue persists: after only minimal use, the gears break again. Upon inspection, it’s clear that the gears are made from cheap die-cast material, which is not built to last. Considering these actuators cost around $400-$500 each, I expect more durable components. I’m planning to reach out to Lockwood to see if they can assist. They should be willing to provide better-made gears so I can repair over $5000 worth of window actuators that are failing due to a low-cost, easily replaceable part.

I have 9 of these installed in my house and 8 of them have failed. Lockwood won't send anyone to have a look cause its past 1 year warranty. Its only been 3 years and probably used less than 10 times. What ever you do, don't buy this product!

LOCKWOOD ELEVATION ELECTRIC WINDOW ACTUATOR

No issue with The Lock Shop, great service, best prices, highly recommend. I have an issue with the Lockwood product, we have 4 actuators in a residential house, 4-5 years old, probably been used @ 200-300 times. 2 actuators have failed, Lockwood specification states they are good for @12000 activations. Inspection reveals they are build with cheap die cast gears that will never last. These are not a cheap item, @$400 each, Lockwood will not respond to any warranty enquiry. Poor product and poor support from the company.
